I had my cornflakes this morning watching TV news, big mistake that. Some prat was banging on again about people drinking too much and how alcohol companies should be banned from advertising at sporting events. When will pillocks like that realise that it is their constant hectoring and nannying that drives people to drink. Thankfully I don't have a hangover this morning.
But Mrs B and I were reassured about our drinking habits when said 'expert' cited forgetting to collect the kids from school as a sign of a severe alcohol problem. That has never happened to either of us so our drinking must be fine and well under control.
So my advice is, like us, don't have kids.
On a more serious note Gavin Webb, a fine chap I met when I was chairman of the Libertarian Party, has started a new political party, the Independent Libertarian Network. If you are sick of the ever encroaching police state then click on the link and take a look. You know you should.

Thanks Gregg. I am interested in this too. I hope you mentioning it doesn't make things awkward between yourself & LPUK leader Andrew P Withers.
I don't understand your comment. If I was cynical I would possibly think you're the kind of snidy shit that is all too evident in politics, hiding behind anonymity too. But I'm not.
Not Malcolm by any chance?
Unlikely. Probably just someone who isn't up to date with the way things went with the Libertarian Party. Anonymous, if you're reading this, the short answer is that most of the former membership will no longer have anything to do with Andrew Withers. I'm hoping the ILN will be a fresh start for those of us who'd actually like to see some positive change in our lifetimes.
I'm a snidey shit Gregg, but I'll confirm that I'm not Malcolm. Sorry for offending you, I understood that you left LPUK on good terms with Andrew P Withers. It was a genuine surprise to see you grant the ILN a mention.
Hello Stuart. See why I've been glad to take a back seat since I left LPUK? Too many gobshite know-nowts in politics who prefer stirring the pot than actually doing anything constructive. Glad you're still involved, politics needs tyhe decent people. See you soon.
Good work Gregg. Wasn't sure if you were still with Andrew P Withers. I know you & he were tight before all this kicked off., but I know that you are also an honest broker.
Fair enough, spat over.
Anonymous has now been on Twitter Stuart, not sure whether his own name or a pseudonym.
Sadly his attitude typifies my doubts about too many libertarians. I have comment moderation, which I dislike, because of nutters and snides like him. When I pointed this out to him his response was: "Your blog, your rules".
It's people with that attitude that lead to the laws that are now so oppressive, but he obviously doesn't see that. Sadly he seems to think he can behave as he wants but won't take responsibity when restrictions are imposed.
A very small example, but when that attitude prevails on bigger things the state intervenes. Simple really.
