Rupert Murdoch-The Mass Baby Murderer

We got back to the UK yesterday after three weeks in France to be greeted by the dulcit tones of George Galloway on BBC Radio2. There must be something being blown out of all proportion if the BBC has that particular verbal diarrhoea suffering Scotsman on it's programmes. If you want a massive over-reaction to any current event, an over-reaction that is blown out of all proportion then call George.

It became obvious as Galloway ranted and raved that Rupert Murdoch had been accused of mass murder while we had been swanning around France. I feared, judging from his emotional and ranting performance, that Murdoch had been slaughtering babies by the million and either burying them in mass graves, or eating them. Good God, what a world we live in!

Then I heard the sactimonious tones of Tony Blair, whoops, sorry, it just sounded like Blair, it was actually Nick Clegg, far more sanctimonious and false than even Blair ever managed. He was rabbiting on about Murdoch too.

Then up popped what sounded like a nasally challenged computer geek claiming that Murdoch had to be stopped so that the British press could be liberated and become free again. It wasn't a geek, it just sounded like one. It was actually Ed Milibandroid. Surely his mass murders should be investigated first. Milibandroid just doesn't get it! Actually Ed, we do have a free press. Maybe he's never read the Telegraph, the Guardian, the Independent, the Observer, the Mail, the Express, the Mirror, the Star.

Then I thought it must be some kind of new satirical show when somebody impersonating John Prescott popped up, mangling the English language in a way that even Prescott couldn't manage. But no, it was Prescott, his grasp of English seems to be worsening with age. He claimed 'the public opinion' had been against Murdoch for years and years and Murdoch is only interested in making money. Unlike Prescott who I assume has always kept the equivalent of the minimum wage and donated the rest of his cash from pay, perks, books and advertising to worthy causes. So the public show how much they hate Murdoch by buying his newspapers and satellite dishes by the million eh John?

Murdoch is obviously out to make money, why else do most of us bother working? But if he is only interested in cash why has he pumped millions each year into keeping The Times going when, left to true market forces, it should have closed years ago? He did it because he is a newspaperman and, regardless of what a bastard he may be, he has preserved, with hard cash, a newspaper that is a great part of our history and culture.

But more worrying is the feeding frenzy of the stinking hypocrites in Westminster. We heard arch prick Vince Cable declaring war on Murdoch a few months ago, they all seem to be jumping on the badwagon now. Politicians should back off and let the law take its course. If the illegal acts alleged to have been carried out by staff at the News Corporation are proven then let those guilty face the full force of the law, whether that be a junior reporter in Wapping or Rupert Murdoch and his son. Until then the politicians should back off. I have no strong views on Murdoch either way, but I do believe in innocent until proven guilty. Far worse than a dodgy newspaper owner is politicians deciding who should or should not own newspapers.

And to all the holier than thou currently behaving as if Murdoch is a mass child murderer, have you ever bought a Murdoch newspaper? Have you ever subscribed to Sky? Have you ever watched your favourite team on Sky in a pub? If so, you have lined the pockets of Murdoch and are therefore a hypocrite.

When Will Ed Miliband Grow Up?

I was shocked this week when I heard that Ed Miliband had refused to share a platform with Clegg at the launch of the Yes To AV referendum campaign. Why?  Apparently this was his reasoning:
"Let me tell you why - I want to win the AV referendum because I think it is important to reform our politics and I think it will make for a more accountable democracy and one where more votes count. The problem is Nick Clegg is the last thing we need to win this referendum."

Instead he shared the platform with such giants of political life as Caroline Lucas, loony Green MP for Brighton, the often 'tired and emotional' ex-Lib Dem leader Charles Kennedy and ex-Labour, ex-SDP currently Lib Dem Baroness Shirl 'The Girl' Williams. I can only assume that Kennedy and Williams also regard Clegg as a liability as they still took to the platform with the NUS leader, oops sorry Labour leader, despite his refusing to share a platform with their leader.

It got me wondering what Miliband would do if, as Prime Minister, yes I know that's a bit too far fetched to believe but indulge me, he was expected to attend the UN on our behalf. Would he refuse to share a platform with the with people whose PR may not help a situation? "Is that (enter name of any number of despots throughout the world who are part of the UN)? I'm off, I'm not sharing a platform with him." For crying out loud Miliband it's not the campus of Nelson and Colne Polytechnic in 1978.

If Miliband thinks his presence will make a yes vote more likely on May 5th then he's on a planet even further away from Earth than I thought he was, quite apt then that he should be happy to share a platform with Lucas, who should concentrate on saving her own planet and leave ours alone. If you're not sure then next time you see Miliband interviewed ask yourself this question: "When in 50 years time they want to put up a statue of a great statesman next to Churchill in Parliament Square, can you imagine them choosing a statue of Miliband?".

What Terror Threat?

Sir John Sawers wife plastered all sorts of personal information on the internet via Facebook, details such as where their flat in London is, names of friends and so on. The story is in today's Mail on Sunday.

You don't have to be George Smiley to think that this raises questions about the next head of MI6. It seems that he has also told all kinds of extended family members and friends that he is about to become "C", or maybe his wife did. Either way, his security has obviously been compromised as well as his judgement being brought into question.

But Miliband, the Foreign Secretary, doesn't think it's a big deal. In that case Miliband, why all the draconian anti-terror legislation against the ordinary citizens of the UK?

Political Euphemisms

I always find political euphemisms intriguing, sometimes hilarious and often downright stupid. Here are some of the ones I particularly remember. Some famous, some not.

"He has decided to spend more time with his family". He has been sacked.

" He didn't have the health or energy to fight the election". I'm telling porkies, he really thinks the leader is a spiv and the party is going nowhere.

"She plans to spend more time with her family". She thinks the Prime Minister is a loser and she will probably lose her seat at the next election, so she's off to prepare for a new post general election career.

"He withdrew from the list because he came top and only expected to come third". I'm telling porkies, he really thinks the leader is a spiv and the party is going nowhere.

"There are difficult times ahead but it is not the time for an apprentice". We're in the shit but you can still piss off Miliband.

"The decision was brave and courageous". What the f*&k has he done that for?

"He has no intention of standing for the leadership". He's just waiting for some other prat to stick his head above the parapet, then he'll be in the fight faster than a rat up a drainpipe.

There are many more and many more will be surfacing in the future, indeed this post could become a regular item, in fact it definitely will! Feel free to add your own via comments.

Jezza the Brownite

Chomping on the rice crispies this morning I had a terrible shock when I read, on teletext, that my local MP, Geraldine Smith, was calling for the sacking of young Miliband. I immediately switched to the TV news and caught a doppelganger being interviewed. Hence the two piccies. But no it was Geraldine, her hair has just changed colour. When I stood against her in 2001 her hair was so black she made your average Raven look Teutonic, her nickname was Morticia. Now she's some kind of strawberry blonde I think you call it. I think she is perhaps overworking.

It's very rare you hear from Geraldine in Morecambe and Lunesdale unless it's an extremely local issue, such as cracked pavements. She got in on the Chinese cocklers' tragedy although excellent local independent councillor Keith Budden had been the man campaigning for years for improved safety and monitoring of cocklers in the Bay, there were TV and radio crews there for days you see.

Yet suddenly she comes out fighting for Big Gordy Brown. I can only think she is tired of politics and knows that if Big Gordy remains in charge she will lose her seat next time round.

Language of Politics

Miliband is widely reported as calling for a "summer of introspection". It's interesting at times like this how the language of politics becomes barely recognisable as English.

What "summer of introspection" actually means is "don't look within Gordon, look behind to check what's hovering between your shoulder blades, knife crime on the way".

"New Labour won three elections by offering real change, not just in policy but in the way we do politics. We must do so again. So let's stop feeling sorry for ourselves, enjoy a break, and then find the confidence to make our case afresh." This nice phrase, translated into real English means: "Remember those heady days under Tony when we couldn't lose? Well it's time for another real change, another change of leader, time to put a fresh faced young chap like me in charge".

Kosovo Again

The Kosovo situation is increasingly worrying, as are the pronouncements of our sixth form Foreign Minister Milliband Senior, who is now claiming that the Kosovan declaration of independence "does not set a precedent". True it doesn't set a precedent as such, it follows precedents set previously by numerous countries following the collapse of Yugoslavia and the USSR. It also follows a precedent, set by the UK government, whereby terrorists are allowed to join the government, remember Northern Ireland? Well the new leader of independent Kosovo has a very dubious Marxist-Leninist past.

He also claims that the move does not encourage independence organisations elsewhere in Europe, such as the Basques in Spain or Macedonians in Greece. Well of course it does Milliband you nitwit! You can just imagine a Basque seperatist sat nursing his Kalashnikov, in his Ernie Guevara style beret in the Pyrenees thinking Kosovo today, the Basque country tomorrow.

The whole aim of the European Union is to divide and rule. It wants nations to be split asunder, so that they can be lured into its sphere of influence and control as they are supposedly powerless and vulnerable left all alone , witness the ongoing break up of the UK.

Another equally worrying aspect of the Kosovo situation is the religious element, as posted yesterday, which is being ignored by the media. How long before Muslim seperatists declare independence elsewhere in Europe? Wonder if Mr Milliband would then regard Kosovo as a precedent?

And on the wider European level have Miliband and the others recognised the danger of a belligerant Serbian reaction, especially a Serbia backed by the Russian government?

Poor Africa

While Kenya is in the headlines at the moment there is a continuing tragedy in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. According to The International Rescue Committee there are still 45,000 people dying every month in Congo, despite the civil war supposedly ending 5 years ago.

Over 5,000,000 people have died since the war began in 1998. The 45,000 deaths a month now are due to the collapse of the infastructure, health services, malnutrition and disease. There is also ongoing violence, torture and widespread rape. And yet there is little to be heard about this from the liberal left. Elsewhere I have posted about Zimbabwe and repeat, that the pinko liberal politically correct brigade seem to always turn a blind eye to black against black violence. Where is the hatred towards the African murderers from the 'rentamob' that turn out in their thousands if a GI runs over an Iraqi civilian in a road accident in Baghdad? For that matter where are Geldoff and Bono? Oh yes, they will be busy pointing their fingers at the evil West while making a few more millions!

One of the less popular reasons to despise the EU has always been the damage it causes to the economies of developing countries, African countries being a prime example. The only way to stop the continuing rape of African countries by despots is to ensure that these countries can feed themselves, and that means trade not aid, free trade not 'fairtrade'. Until then the liberal left can wallow in their hatred of western civilisation, get a nice warm glow from turning up at a huge fundraising concert at Wembley, and ignore the fact that they are as much a part of the problem as Mugabe and the other African despots their 'consciences' help to keep in power.

It Just Isn't Cricket!

Even the Foreign and Commonwealth Office website describes Zimbabwe as a basket case and Mugabe is quite obviously responsible. However, I cannot agree with talk of banning the Zimbabwe cricket team from touring England in 2009, as Miliband Senior seems to be calling for today .

If the government, the United Nations and assorted pan-African organisations haven't got the guts to deal with Mugabe and his rancid government, then don't pass the buck to our sportsmen and expect the English Cricket Board to do your dirty work. Will this government be urging a boycott of the Olympics when they roll into China? After all, the human rights abuses and lack of true democracy in China make it just as bad, if not worse by most standards, as Zimbabwe. And is Zimbabwe really any worse than most African states who we continue to deal with?

It's interesting that the current government, containing previous boycotters, such as Peter Hain, now appear powerless to act when in a position of political power. They boycotted everything South African during apartheid but seem incapable of action in the case of Zimbabwe. Perhaps they are only motivated when they see white people as the oppressors of black people but are blind, or just don't care, when it is black oppressing black and/or white.

It's the Zimbabwe government to blame, not their cricketers.
