UKIP (UK Independence Party)

Somebody still within the UK Independence Party has brought yet another dissident UKIP blog to my attention. This time it is The True UKIP.

Unless I'm very much mistaken The True UKIP has come about because of dissatisfaction with the way the party leadership has used and abused Young Independence. The problem is that the youth wing was used by Farage and his friends merely to promote the thoroughly unpleasant Lisa Duffy and the not very bright Paul Nuttall. Job done it now seems to be being laid to rest.

I have no idea who is behind The True UKIP but they seem to be working with Junius on UKIP and Caterpillars and Butterflies to try and clean up UKIP and return it to an organisation with principles fighting the European Union, rather than sponging off it to make a few people a good living.

The destruction of Young Independence shows the total lack of ambition within the party's current leadership, political ambition being replaced by personal greed and self-glorification. Remember that Paul Nuttall was secretary of Young Independence before becoming Party Chairman, not much of a track record in building and developing an organisation then.

I admire those still fighting to change UKIP, there are many decent people amongst the rank and file membership, but fear it is a lost cause. Since 2004, especially during the leadership of the despotic Nigel Farage, UKIP has been corrupted and used for the benefit of a small greedy group. Sadly it should now be laid to rest, which I suspect it will within five years.

This demise can only be hastened by the upcoming publicity surrounding the trial of Tom Wise, yet another divisive leadership contest that will scupper chances of progress in the general election and the MEPs allowing themselves to be absorbed into a pan-European party to ensure they get the most generous allowances available. Remember Farage is stepping down to concentrate on his job 'over there', not what he was elected by the members or the voters to do, but he just loves the lifestyle.

No wonder so many UKIP members, especially those who didn't merely jump on the post-2004 band wagon, are despairing.

It seems that UKIP's leadership cannot get their stories coordinated about Marta Andreasen's resignation as treasurer, so what chance organising a coherent campaigning political party? Nigel Farage now says:

"....Marta has a big job here and in the UK and that's really why she's gone."

That's according to this report on the BBC news website. Of course by 'here' he means tucked up in the splendour of Brussels and Strasbourg.

That does not coincide with Marta Andreasen's reason given to The Times:

“I resigned because I disagree with how the party is being managed at the level of the chairmanship,”

I always checked my watch was still there if I was unfortunate enough to have to shake Farage's hand, so I know who I believe.

UKIP Implode-Again!

Poor old UKIP. Whenever they appear to have a little bit of success, which the June results were, just about, they implode. That's the problem when a party has no coherent philosophy and its leaders are only interested in 'the gravy train'.

Now Marta Andreasen, former EU accountant has walked:

“I resigned because I disagree with how the party is being managed at the level of the chairmanship,”

No surprise there then!

If still a member, I would be asking for clarification of the following statement by Paul Nuttall:

"Let’s get one thing perfectly clear. I am the party chairman. I get paid to make decisions,” he said. “If those decisions do not work then it is my head on the chopping block.

“Marta and I have different methods of working, however I do not have a problem with Marta and Marta does not have a problem with me.”

Does this mean, as he seems to be saying, that on top of his MEP salary he is also receiving a salary as party chairman? Or is it just poor use of the English language? And despite her statement above, he still claims that Marta Andreasen doesn't have a problem with him. Oh well.

But I suspect there is far worse yet to come out. In the meantime here is the full Times online article.

UKIP-Lies and Hypocrisy.

There comes a time when enough is enough. I came home today to find the UKIP EU election leaflet behind the door. In these days of sleaze and excess by politicians it was as bad as they come. It stated:

"UKIP CANDIDATES ARE REAL PEOPLE, NOT CAREER POLITICIANS!"

Their lead candidate was a Tory until after the 2004 Euro elections, then he saw a chance. He has been a student for many years, only putting his PhD studies on hold to become a UKIP/Independence and Democracy Group researcher in the European Parliament. His 'work' as a lecturer was part of his PhD studies. Hardly a brickie or a postie.

Has he done any other work? Not that I know of, and I have known him since he joined UKIP in 2004.

No 2 candidate Michael McManus is described in the UKIP leaflet as "a former charity fundraiser". Well Michael, you certainly worked as a researcher for the Directory of Social Change in Liverpool briefly after your studies, but how much money did you raise? And who for? As far as I'm aware the DoSC doesn't raise any funds.

I understood Michael worked as a "researcher" for the Directory of Social Change in Liverpool. Before, guess what? Yes, he became a researcher for the UKIP/Independence and Democracy Group in the European Parliament. Hardly a brickie or a postie.

But then again, MEPs are worthless costly parasites. Politicos go from school to university, to Westminster/Brussels gravy train. They are all sponging parasites-unless they are UKIP.

As I said here, one of the reasons I left UKIP was because they still do not take British parliamentary elections seriously enough. No number of MEPs will get Britain out of the European Union, it's Westminster where it will count.

If anybody had any doubts about this then here is a quote from Party Chairman, Paul Nuttall, at the launch of the Party's North West campaign:

“This is a European election where people can register a protest against the EU, so we are asking Labour, Conservative and Liberal Democrat supporters to ‘lend us your vote’ for this election.”

So, the UKIP message is clear. Lend us your vote to get us on the gravy train. But don't bother at the general election, where it really counts.
