David Morris MP, Morecambe and Lunesdale Constituency

Yesterday we had yet another tedious questionnaire from our MP David Morris. We receive so many from his 'team' I tend to think of him and his 'team' more as a polling firm, a poor man's MORI, than as a Member of Parliament.

Consultation is one thing, but when I have asked his position on a couple of serious issues his response has been that he will wait and see what his constituents think. Now forgive me but I thought MPs were elected on what they, and increasingly their parties believed. It seems that Morris has no opinions, beliefs or principles other than to get re-elected. I can't help thinking that if he polled his constituents about the slaughter of the first born in every household and they wanted it he would probably campaign for it.

As he seems to have no beliefs I won't be voting Conservative in May next year.

Which UKIP Candidate?

In the Morecambe and Lunesdale constituency we received our UKIP election address urging us to vote for Nigel Brown. But when the candidates were declared on the Lancaster City Council website the declared UKIP candidate is Mark Andrew Knight. Both appear as the candidate on different parts of the UKIP website.

Who knows, maybe Nigel got cold feet when he saw this now notorious video of Party Leader Lord Pearson on The Campaign Show. Jon Sopel's expression is priceless!

Then again maybe Nigel stood down when the Lib Dems announced their promise of an in/out referendum on membership of the EU. Surely according to UKIP's policy of not standing against Labour or more importantly, Tory Eurosceptics, they should now stand down against Lib Dem candidates? After all, the Lib Dems in a hung parliament are more likely to deliver UKIP's desired referendum than half a dozen misfits in the other parties, even if the Lib Dems aren't Eurosceptic.

UKIP North West Spring Conference (Part II)

Hamish Howitt , who is currently being hounded by the health fascists for allowing people to smoke in his Blackpool pub, will be speaking at the UKIP NW Spring Conference on March 29 in Morecambe.

Sean Gabb has confirmed that he will be speaking at the UKIP North West Spring Conference in Morecambe, Lancashire on Saturday 29 March. Also speaking will be Tim Aker, of The Taxpayers' Alliance, on local government waste, and Phil Booth of NO2ID , giving us an update on their splendid work so far in fighting ID cards and the database state. Other stimulating speakers have been invited but yet to confirm, updates will appear here and on the UKIP website.

On the Sunday speakers will include UK Independence Party Leader, Nigel Farage, his Deputy David Campbell Bannerman and Party Chairman Dr John Whittaker. There will also be speakers on the range of UKIP policies.
