Lies, Damn Lies and Remaniacs

Over the last couple of weeks I've returned to spend a little time on Twitter, which I haven't done very much for a few years. There seems to be a disproportionate number of Remainiacs spouting nonsense, bullshit and all too often sheer venom in the direction of anybody who they disagree with. This level of bile peaked around the time of the Losers' March a couple of weeks ago, only to be expected I suppose.

The funniest thing about the Remainiacs on Twitter, and no doubt elsewhere, is how unhinged a high proportion of them appear to be. When I engaged them the reaction I got was often hilarious, occasionally slightly unnerving. I was accused regularly of being a Russian troll, a Russian troll bot, or is it Russian bot troll? Either way it sounds a bit strange and I'm none of those things clearly.

I copped for more than my fair share of the usual 'racist', 'xenophobe', 'fascist', 'Little Englander' and many more of those words now rendered meaningless by the politically correct left who have no idea what they actually mean but just fire them at anybody who disagrees with them. Quite sad really.

Just as an aside what struck me most about the Losers' March, indeed any gathering of Remainiacs over the last couple of years, is the huge proportion who drape themselves in the EU flag while wearing EU berets, t-shirts and having their faces painted with the blue and gold flag. Yet dare fly an English flag during the World Cup and these same EU jingoists will cry 'racist', 'xenophobe' or any of the other abusive terms from the paragraph above. But they are so arrogantly absorbed in their own self-righteousness that the irony is lost on them.

Then there are the arrogant, often tasteless assumptions so many Remainiacs make about those of us who voted for Brexit. The most disgusting of these being that old people voted Leave without any thought for their children or grandchildren, indeed they have utterly wrecked their futures and another vote should be held when they die off. How many of these people will point to other cultures when it suits them to show how they respect their elders so much more than we in the West do? They cherish their elders and children learn from them by co-habiting in happy family groups running to several generations. But dare support Brexit and they condemn you as a selfish, destructive old bastard.

Then there is the old 'you Brexiteers didn't know what you were voting for'. I grew tired of having to repeat that I voted Leave meaning out of the Customs Union, out of the Single Market and out of the influence of the European Court of Justice (ECJ). Actually as an aside I was amazed how many Remainiacs didn't know the difference between the ECJ and the European Court of Human Rights. Yes, I know there are people who voted Leave who want us to stay in the Single Market in the Norwegian style but I don't agree with them, I want out, I don't regard that as Brexit but we knew things were not black and white before June 2016, they rarely are, but that is no reason to block Brexit or call for another vote, that's life.

The other Remainiac attack is that Leave lied during the campaign. They quite clearly and in my view mischievously misrepresent what was said by hundreds of campaigners during the campaign. Different campaigners expressed their personal views, on all sides during the campaign, that is politics. If you expected both camps in the campaign to sing from exactly the same hymn sheet then you are either stupid or stirring the pot. Take for example the Vote Leave battle bus. What it said on the side was:

'We send the EU £350million a week
let's fund the NHS instead'

Put aside that Brexit won't be happening for another five months so how any benefit may be spent is irrelevant now, the Remainiacs make a big deal about this being a lie. No, it is not a lie. It does not say 'let's spend the £350 million on the NHS' it merely states 'let's fund the NHS'. Anybody who claims it means spend that £350 million on the NHS needs to go back to school for some English lessons or is making things up.

I want us take back control which means leaving the jurisdiction of the ECJ. I want us to be free to trade with the whole world rather than be locked into an introverted, bureaucratic and stagnating authoritarian block that belongs in the dustbin of the twentieth century.

If anybody has lied during the 2016 campaign, and since, it is the Remainiacs. They claim to know why 17.5m voted Leave and to know why we didn't know what we were voting for. Patently an absolutely whopping lie

During the referendum campaign the Remainiacs claimed, repeatedly that this was a once in a generation referendum, there should be no more and the government must be allowed to enact the result. They now claim to want a second referendum on the terms of Brexit. They are liars whose intention is to subvert the vote in 2016 and want us to remain in the EU. They were only adamant about 'once in a generation' when they were convinced they would win.

Since 2016 there has been a stream of venomous Remainiac political figures scurrying like rats to Brussels and Strasbourg schmoozing up to Juncker, Barnier and other Eurocrats trying to subvert the peoples' vote we hheld in 2016 for their own sordid egotistical, unpatriotic reasons. People like Blair, Heseltine, Cameron, Cable and others. Interestingly most of them would be dismissed as irrelevant old farts by Remainiacs if they were Brexiteers.

No, the Remainiacs, combined with the cultural Marxists of the left, have created the most vile and destructive atmosphere in public life that I can remember. They are intolerant and refuse to accept that there was a campaign, that there was a free and fair vote and that they lost. Ironically they hide behind democracy by calling for a second vote, a vote only the Remainiac losers want because they are the political equivalent of spoilt brats stamping their feet because they want their own way.

The sting in the tail is that 66% of people voted to stay in the Common Market in 1975 having been promised/lied to that it would never be other than a trading bloc. We were lied to and, as the bureaucrats expanded their power and influence by stealth, that entity evolved into the European Union. Their own work turned that 66% in favour in 1975 into a 52% for leaving in 2016 despite millions of old people dying in the intervening years. How very EU.
