If you thought the London Eye was bad (and it was), try the open day at Lloyd's of London where the lift is a flimsy little glass pod that whizzes up outside the building. Or try going up Monument and looking down the middle of the spiral staircase when you're near the top.
The Columbus Tower in Barcelona is grim too. A few hundred feet up a Nelson's Column type thing with a three man lift up the middle, you get out into what a seems like an oversized barrel, top half with glass windows, built by Spaniards!!

Yup. Best avoided.
